How to Become a Successful Writer

Once I had survey among parents just to know how many of them wanted their children to become writers. I asked twenty parents and none of them wanted their children to be writers. They wanted their children to do MBA, MCA, MBBS, BE, LLB or even to join a call centre but nobody wanted their children to go into the profession of writing. All of them thought it was a sure way to stuggle almost everyday to struggle for just bread and butter
I could not locate any fault with the parents. They always want the best for their children. Even knowing that in modern world hundreds of persons are becoming millionaires every year with the help of their writings. Demand of good writers is increasing every year but unfortunately organised professional training is still nowhere in the sight. No college of university in the world is trying to produce trained writers.
Book-selling was considered a profession of the poor or lower middle class people and parents don't want their children to enter the line even today. Jeff Bezos re-defined the book selling business by establishing internet book-selling company Amazon.com in 1995. He amazed the world by earning his first billion (dollars) just in four years. Nobody expected such a huge earning in book-selling business. (Bill Gates had made his first billion in twenlve years).
Although established writers earn millions every year yet the profession need more revolutionary efforts to be branded as a career-making and earning field. In my opinion it is going to happen in near future. As a matter of fact writing is a tough profession. You really have to work harder than these MBAs or MCAs. Success is not easy but when it comes it brings a wonderful satisfaction. If you are interested in writing you need to take the following steps to establish yourself in the profession and earn good money.
1. GET COMMAND OVER THE LANGUAGE
No person can be recognised as a good writer without a good command over the language. Writing should be clear and forceful. Don’t make grammatical mistakes else you may become a laughing stock. If necessary take training from a good teacher. Give extra care to your punctuation. To become a master of good sentence construction you definitely need years of hard work.
2. DO YOU HAVE FIRE IN THE HEART?
Before entering the profession of writing ask from yourself: Do I have a fire in my heart? Do I really want to express something madly? Do I have different ideas than others? If your answer to all these questions is 'yes' then writing may prove a good profession for you otherwise forget the idea of becoming a writer. You can become famous by writing in any form: prose, poetry, drama or simply copy writing. Just follow your mood and interest.
3. HOW TO GET IDEAS
Whatever you want to write you need ideas. If you want write story for a movie or a TV serial you must be able to think about a unique plot that can thrill the viewers. If you want to write an advertisement copy or a sales letter your writing must be based on a new idea to influence the viewers or readers. If you want to writen an article or book you again your mind must be bubbling with a new idea that can become a hit with the readers. You already have a fertile ground for new ideas - a fire in your heart. To add a further push to it you should a) read newspapers, magazines and books, b) watch television, c) move among various sections of people, and d) travel different places.
4. WHERE IS THE MARKET FOR YOU?
No writer is successful till he finds a market where he is able to sell his writings. Unlike the past in modern world writers have a vast market before them: newspapers, magazines, Tv centres, book publishers, advertisement agencies, e.newspapers, copy and article writing for really big internet market, movies etc.
5. HOW TO GAIN ACCESS TO A MARKET
Nobody is able to get benefit of your services till you are able to convince that you are a good writer. You have let others know about you and your ability. But the question is how you can do it. There are several ways: a ) first step is to read various newspapers and magazines, watch televsion, study websites of didferent publication and carefully read the guidelines for the writers. a) Send your writings directly to the publishers
